Alan Watts is considered to be the first person to interpret Eastern wisdom for Western culture. In 1951 he wrote a book called, The Wisdom of Insecurity: A Message for the Age of Anxiety, which I consider to be one of the best books ever written on the topic of mental health and wellbeing. If you decide to purchase the book, please use the links in the article to support the labor of love that is Brainpickings.
